Welcome to Friday and the end of the week! Exciting things are in store for those who are on the O’Fallon campus this weekend. In a kick-off to the fall season, we will have a coffee truck on site with ½ price drinks all morning. There will also be fresh warm trays of the famous Bridge Bread Cini-Minis. And to top off all the fun, we are billing the time between and after services as a chat with the pastor. Join me on the Twin Chimneys side of the building for this trifecta of fun, food, and fellowship.

In our pick verse for today, Peter continues his teaching on how Jesus has the power to change our relationships. As followers of Jesus, we are to be concerned for the welfare of all people. When we focus our attention on the needs (spiritual, physical, and/or emotional) of others we do this out of both fear (respect) of God and as a way to honor those who are in charge here on earth. We are to give our ultimate loyalty to God above all else in life, but we are also commanded to respect civil rulers as His servants. We must obey government authorities unless their requirements conflict with the laws of God. How do we know the difference between the laws of God and the motives of humanity? We are to spend time in His word and be in conversation with those who can help us discern and then hold us accountable to the truth of scripture.

Blessings
