Tuesday – September 20th – 1 Peter 2:22-23     -----

2:22) He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.
23) He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE CALM THAT PUTS US TO SLEEP MAY BE MORE DEADLY THAN A STORM THAT KEEPS US WIDE AWAKE.*

Welcome to Tuesday! Our highlight event for today is one I am personally excited and about and highly endorse for anyone and everyone. A new season of Financial Peace University begins on Wednesday September 21st at 6:30pm. You may have millions packed away, or you may be living less than paycheck to paycheck, or you may be somewhere in-between, regardless this 10-week class will transform your financial life in more ways than I could tell you in this short space. Beth and I are graduates of FPU and it has made a phenomenal difference in our focusing on our financial future. Information and sign-up can be found on the SunRise App under events, or at www.sunrisefamily/events. Look for the Financial Peace University graphic to click on.

In our pick verse today, Peter gives us solid reasons why we should be willing to follow in the steps of Jesus. The call to follow Jesus often involves a call to suffer for those things that are righteous and holy in God’s eyes. The way Jesus bore the suffering of crucifixion is our example when we face difficult situations. Jesus is our example that by committing Himself to God, who will always judge righteously and thus vindicate the innocent who suffer for the name of Jesus. While we will probably never be called to suffer to the extent of crucifixion, we can be assured the world will press our backs against the wall simply because we desire to be faithful, and faith-filled followers of Jesus. My prayer is that may all who come behind us find us faithful.

Blessings
