The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WORRY AND WORSHIP ARE MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE.*

Good Tuesday to you! Wow!! Today’s inspirational thought comes perfectly on the heels of this past weekends teaching on how worry doesn’t add a moment to our lives. If you missed it – you can always “on-demand” any SunRise worship service through either the website or the SunRise App. Worry is a great distracting in our relationship with God. When we spend time excessively worrying about something in our lives, we are in fact crowding God out of the picture and removing Him from being the author of the solution. How might you worship more and worry less this week?

In our pick verse today, Peter is focusing on the folly of the so-called wisdom of the false prophets of his day. Peter draws upon a well-known Old Testament figure to make is point on their foolish pride and ego. Balaam is cited as Peter’s example of self-centered desire and willful disobedience on account of his covetousness attitude as described in Numbers 22-24. Balaam was attempting to work both sides of the fence to his personal advantage in the on-going war between the Israelites and the Moabites. As verse sixteen indicates Balaam’s donkey had more righteousness than did Balaam. Unfortunately, Balaam continued his wicked and selfish ways and would eventually die by the sword during a battle for the Reubenite occupation of Moabite land. Balaam’s story stands as a reminder that no sin against God goes unpunished, unless we have, in humility, chosen to seek God’s forgiveness.

Blessings
