Monday – December 5th – 2 Peter 3:3-4     -----

3:3) Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.
4) They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

The Daily Walk bible inspirational thought for today:
YOU DO NOT CHOOSE TO BE IN THE BUSINESS OF BRINGING OTHERS TO CHRIST; YOU CHOOSE CHRIST AND ARE AT ONCE IN THE BUSINESS.*

Welcome to Monday!!!  If you are a person who counts down the days until Christmas then you are twenty days out, meaning only nineteen shopping days until Christmas Eve. Our inspirational thought for today is perfect to establish God’s expectations as we begin a new week of serving the Kingdom of Heaven. I needed to be reminded of the stark difference between thinking I have the option to share Jesus with others and the that sharing Jesus is an inseparable part of being a believer. Just like intentionally growing in our faith, sharing Jesus is not an option we can elect to remove for our Christian life. This week seize the opportunity, when presented, to share your faith through your actions, your spoken words, and/or your social media posts. During this time of year, folks are super attentive to listening about the Jesus of Christmas. All Heaven rejoices when one person begins to follow Jesus.

In our pick verses today, Peter attacks the false teachers’ claims that deny Jesus’ return and God’s judgement that follows. They argued that all things will continue as they always had – and always would. They seemed to think the world operated independently and unconnected to God. This same demonic temptation to believe in an unknowing, uncaring, out of touch with today’s reality God is even greater today. The false teachers of today are encouraging people to create God in their own image instead of our being created in God’s image. When we fall to the temptation to create our own God then we have lost any accountability in our life to God’s truth. If we choose to embrace their line of teaching, we deny the words of Jesus and disobey His command to be alert and ready for His Second Coming.

Blessings
