Saturday - January 21st – 1 John 3:20-22     -----

3:20) For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21) Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
22) And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

Good Saturday to you! Another awesome filled weekend is here for us to enjoy. Hope your plans are to take advantage of all the many opportunities available for a third weekend in January. I also hope your plans include time to worship with the SunRise family on Sunday. We are all set for the third part of our “Overcoming A Spiritual Slump” series. Part three digs into how sin creates a disruption in our connection to God. The story of King David and Bathsheba is an excellent example of how quickly one sin can multiple into multiple sins, all in an attempt to cover up the first sin. Join us in-building at either 8am or 9:45am with the added bonus of Bridge Bread cinnamon rolls and great fellowship. Online live stream worship is at 9:45am with on-demand options immediately following the service.

In our pick verses today, John is teaching on the sure and certain assurance we have as followers of Jesus. Life is filled with choices every day, choices of good or bad, choices of right or wrong, choices of love or hate. Our connection to God is easily identified by our actions. Words come and go but actions last forever. John shares the secret to answered prayers in verse twenty-two. When we are aligned with God in our hearts, minds, and souls, then what we pray for falls under the will of God.  The secret to prayer is not what we pray, or how hard we pray, or even how loud we pray, but how closely we are connected to the will of God. The more time we spend with Him the more we know about His will for our lives and for the lives of others.

Blessings
