4:11) Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
NEVER LOOK BACK UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO THAT WAY.*

Hello to Monday! Today we celebrate the last Monday in the month of January 2023. This month has certainly gone by fast and has been filled with some golden opportunities to make advances in populating the Kingdom of Heaven. Our inspirational thought for today comes from the chapters in Exodus dealing with the crafting of a golden calf for the stagnate Hebrews to worship while Moses was on Mt. Sinai visiting with God. Their fear and uncertainty of what was ahead caused them to long for the good old days – albeit slavery back in Egypt. They lacked trusting God for their next step even though they had received blessing upon blessing from God as they witnessed the miracle of the plagues, the parting of the Red Sea, and the provisions of food and water in the desert. But somehow, all that God had done wasn’t proof enough that God would still be there tomorrow. Looking back will only lead us to go back to what God has freed us from. Eyes ahead and burn the boats.

In our pick verse today, John gives us the perfect word for being assured in and through our connection to Jesus. This is a warning that when we are tempted to be unloving toward others, we are to remember that once we were unlovable. When our actions were rebellious against God, He was willing to forgive us and love us back into connection. As God’s light reflects through us, our love must settle to be a sentiment of word without deed. God asks us to give our love away for the good of others, just as God has given to us. When we fail to love others, we need to evaluate our relationship with God. Simply stated, to be one of God’s is to love others regardless of how we feel about them.

Blessings
