Wednesday – February 15th – 1 John 5:13     -----

5:13) These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
PEOPLE ALWAYS REMEMBER A KIND DEED— PARTICULARLY IF IT WAS THEIR OWN.*

Welcome Wednesday to our busy lives. Tonight, we wrap up session #1 of our Journey Of A Lifetime Bible study as we focus on the Old Testament book of Joshua. This book covers the leadership of Joshua as he takes the Hebrews across the Jordan River and into the settlement of the Promised Land. Except for the twelve Hebrew spies who scouted out the land some 40 years prior, this marks the first time in over 470 years that God’s chosen people returned to land God had promised their distant ancestor Abraham. You are invited to join us tonight either in-building or on the SunRise YouTube channel at 6:30pm – on demand viewing is available after 8pm. Next week will be Ash Wednesday Services at 7pm (come and go ashes available 7am-8am). The following week, Wednesday March 1st, we begin session #2 a six-week study of an intro to the New Testament, the Gospels, and the Book of Acts.

In our pick verse today, John reiterates on the importance of being in relationship with Jesus as the only way to eternal life. John’s ultimate purpose in writing this letter was for believers to be assured that their eternal life can only come through faith in Christ. When armed with that assurance they are encouraged to continue to live a life of faith in God’s promise. Even against the strongest forces the devil can throw at us, God’s grace is always sufficient to enable us to stay strong in this life. John wrote the gospel that bears his name, with a similar purpose to encourage our faith in Jesus as the Christ.

Blessings
