Monday – February 27th – 2 John 1:9 -----
1:9) Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
PERFECT CONFORMITY TO THE WILL OF GOD AS THE SOLE SOVEREIGN IS PERFECT LIBERTY.*
Monday greetings to you! As this week begins, I want to remind all of you who are connected to kindergarten and elementary age child that this is the big push for signups for the SunRise Upward Soccer program. Evaluations will be held this coming weekend and practices starting next week. Games will kick-off later in March. Upward soccer is a Christian based noncompetitive sport, where all youth are treated equal and will play an equal amount of time regardless of skills or athletic ability. Our goal is to work with those that lack the skills and to give them confidence in playing. A devotion is held during each practice and game to help youth make wise decisions, build character, and have develop meaningful relationships. You can find information and signup link on the SunRise Website at www.sunrisefamily.org/family
In our pick verse today, John shares the harsh reality for those that chose to follow after the false teachers of his day. The same realities hold true for those who today step away from the truth of the Gospel message. Compromising our spiritual values can be easily done yet remember that the results of compromise can cause complete spiritual bankruptcy. The person who goes beyond the boundaries set by the true teachings about Christ will lose their right standing with God, and will no longer have a saving experience through either the Father or the Son. While these words from John seem contradictory when we think of God as being all loving. But God’s desires obedience to His word, which in its deepest sense is unconditional love taken to perfection. To allow us the capacity to continue to sin shows a lack of love from God’s perspective. The old song states “trust and obey, for there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus, then to trust and obey”.
Blessings
