Thursday – March 2nd – Intro to 3 John     -----

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THERE IS NO BIBLICAL BASIS FOR BELIEVING THERE IS ANY SUCH THING AS A LITTLE SIN.*

Good Thursday to you! We are quickly approaching the second weekend in the season of Lent. My hope is that you didn’t give up sweets for Lent this year. The SunRise Youth are hosting a bake sale on Sunday before and after each of the services (sorry online folks). The money raised from the bake sale will be used to help with supplies and incidentals for the youth mission trip to Hazard, Kentucky August 1st to 5th. It is not to late to sign up as a youth to attend or as an adult chaperone. Mission trips can be life changing no matter how many times you go. So, buy treats and help our youth. Online folks your donations through either the website giving platform, or the SunRise Church App are also greatly appreciated.

In our SunRise scripture blog today, we are introduced to John’s third epistle to an unidentified group of first-century believers. This book was written by the apostle John sometime between 85 and 90AD from the city of Ephesus within the same timeframe as 1 John. This is the most personal of John’s letters, it commends a disciple named Gaius for his example of hospitality in welcoming believers into this faith community. At the same time, John takes this opportunity to denounce the actions of a person named Diotrephes for his display of pride and arrogance toward other believers. This book is the sixty-fourth book of the Holy Bible, leaving us with only the short book of Jude followed by the book of Revelation to finish out our read through the Bible.

Blessings
