Tuesday – March 7th – 3 John 1:5-6 -----
1:5) Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers,
6) who have borne witness of your love before the church. If you send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, you will do well,
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
BE CAREFUL IF YOU THINK YOU ARE LEADING PEOPLE—THEY MAY BE CHASING YOU.*
Happy Tuesday to you! Here are the first of this week’s SunRise opportunities. On Saturday Mach 18th, Shawn Reynolds a renowned Christian comedian will be sharing his stories, faith, and comedy at SunRise Church. Shawn has opened for Tim Hawkins and has appearances on the Mike Huckabee Show. For tickets check out the events page on either the SunRise Church App or SunRise website. Cost of tickets are $10 and the fun starts at 7pm. Don’t delay, seating is limited and only a handful of tickets remain.
In our pick verses today, John continues his teaching on the attributes of faithfulness in a mature Christian disciple. Gaius had acted faithfully by supporting both the members of his local church community as well as visiting missionaries. These “strangers” in verse five were Christians traveling from other towns, particularly those engaged in evangelistic outreach. What a blessing that this happened without John having to plead for support from the local congregation for these traveling preachers of the Gospel. He encouraged of Gaius to continue to give future missionaries the help they need to continue their journeys. John’s words hold true for believers today, we are called to support and care for those who devote their lives to teaching the truth about Jesus.
Blessings
