Monday – April 3rd – Revelation 1:1     -----

1) The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants--things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,
2) who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE HIGHEST REWARD FOR A PERSON’S TOIL IS NOT WHAT HE OR SHE GETS FOR IT BUT RATHER WHAT HE OR SHE BECOMES BY IT.*

Hello Monday! Today is the first Monday of a new month, the first day of Holy Week, and the first day of no more below freezing temperatures until, lest say December. With the beginning of Holy Week I would encourage you to take some “extra” time this week to select one of the Gospels and read the scripture from Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to the burial of Jesus following his death on the cross. This will help set the stage for you to better understand why this is also called the passion week, and why we can celebrate the awesome news of the resurrection.

As we begin our study of Revelation it is probably best to first define the word itself. In the biblical sense revelation is an unveiling by God of previously hidden truths. The message of Revelation has supreme authority because it originated with God and was given by Jesus the Christ. It was given for the encouragement of His “servants”, a common designation for Christians, those who have completely yielded their life to Christ. This revelation as recorded by John contained both immediate and long-range events imbedded in its message. By being “sent and signified”, God made this message know to John by His specially chosen angel. As a result, John faithfully recorded the things exactly as he saw in his visions. As we read this book we will remember to hold in our minds the intended tension existing between the here and now and the already/not-yet of biblical prophecy.

Blessings
