Monday – April 10th – Revelation 1:9 -----
1:9) I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GET ON FIRE FOR GOD, AND PEOPLE WILL WATCH YOU BURN.*
Good Monday to you!! Another new week begins and surprisingly with it the conclusion on Saturday we will mark the mid-point of the month of April. Our inspirational thought for today is a great way to kick off this new week. When we have a Holy Spirit kindled passion for God we will quickly find ourselves producing fruit for the Kingdom of Heaven. Passion, zeal, and excitement is a sure-fire way to have people notice you. While the end goal is to connect people to Jesus, we first need to establish a relationship with them so they can trust both what we do and what we say. Your mission, I you choose to accept it, is to let the Holy Spirit loose in you so God can let you loose on the world.
In our pick verse today, John begins to establish his authority as an apostle of Jesus, and his connection as a fellow believer through faith. As their “brother” in Christ, John shares a common calling in and through Christ with all Christians everywhere. He is their companion in the spiritual journey of life. Like them, he must patiently bear the current and future tribulations for his loyalty to God’s kingdom. This suffering for John, and for us, is experienced in union with Jesus’ suffering. John had been exiled by the Roman government to the island of Patmos off the coast of Asia Minor. While John was prevented from the work as a traveling missionary, he still represented Jesus through this vision to the early Christian believers. No matter our situation or location God can use us to take part in populating the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessings
