Friday – April 14th – Revelation 1:13 -----
1:13) and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
TRUE PRAYER IS A WAY OF LIFE, NOT JUST AN EMERGENCY DETOUR.*
Happy Friday to you! Our inspirational thought for today is a perfect reminder on the best practices of a praying life. I readily admit that I am guilty of banking my prayers as if I were saving them up for some moment of desperate need. Kind of like the fire alarm pulls attached to walls with the warning “break glass in case of an emergency”. But God’s desire is for us to be in prayer without ceasing. We are to be fully engaged in conversation with God at all times and in all situations. Just as we would relish the opportunity to visit endlessly with someone we dearly love, God opens the door for us to pray to the one who created us. This practice should be our regular and ongoing way of life.
In our pick verse today, John begins a multi-verse description of his visionary encounter with Jesus. This is the first of many descriptions of Jesus contained in the book of Revelation. The New Testament use of the phrase “son of man” will always refer to Jesus. He came to earth in human form, yet at the same time He is the eternal, sovereign Lord of the universe. His garment speaks of kingly dignity which is even more emphasized by the golden band around the robe. There is no doubt in this description that the one who speaks has the full authority of that exists.
Blessings
