Sunday – April 16th – Revelation 1:15 -----
1:15) His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
MOTIVATION IS WHAT GETS YOU STARTED; HABIT IS WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING.*
A blessed and holy Sunday to you! Our inspirational thought is a well-timed reminder of the just concluded season of Lent. Many people chose to give up something that is restricting their relationship growth with God or choose to begin doing something that will draw them closer to God. The ideas behind these Lenten practices are exactly what our inspirational thought states. After forty days living into this new discipline the results should become habit forming. Now some ten days after the conclusion of Lent (yes, the Lenten season ends on the Thursday before Easter) have you successfully created a habit that will result in your growth as a disciple of Jesus?
In our pick verse today, John continues his very detailed and symbolic description of Jesus as he records what is being said and what he is seeing in this vision. To describe Jesus’ feet as being like brass depict the strength of the Almighty as being greater than another other on earth. Jesus’ voice is as impressive and as powerful as the thundering sound of the sea. John’s primary intention in this multi-verse description is to fully establish beyond the shadow of a doubt that the upcoming words to the seven churches are directly from the creator of all that exists in the entire universe. Makes me wonder if we have the same awe and respect for the power of God’s word that John is establishing with these introductory verses.
Blessings
