The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
BLESS THE LORD TODAY; HE BLESSES YOU EVERY DAY.*

Happy Saturday to you! I am excited that tomorrow is another day of Sunday worship at SunRise. Our current series called “The Incredible Absolutes” focuses on the non-negotiable aspects of our Christian faith. Each week we will be adding another layer of absolute foundations of our faith that help us live into God’s will for our lives. This week we build on last week’s “first footing” grounded in the Trinity, as we explore both the how and the why of the creation story. Join us in the building at 8am or 9:45am, livestream at 9:45am, or on demand following the conclusion of the service. You can find us on YouTube at SunRise Church O’Fallon through either the SunRise App or SunRise website.

In our pick verse today, John begins writing down the opening words of the first of the seven letters to the churches in Revelation. The words are intended for the believers in Ephesus and come from the very lips of Jesus, where He announces that He is the source of the true life of the church and as God in the flesh has all power over them. Even with these words of authority, Jesus is well aware that every decision we make comes from our human nature and that God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) will never exert His will over us. We are the by-products of our own decisions and the decisions of those around us. Just as we put ourselves into compromising positions, we are the ones who will make the decision to change. Once we desire to change the direction of our life, only then will God step in to be the agent of transformation. These seven churches are given the opportunity to make decisions that control their own futures. We need to listen carefully to Jesus’ words of correction and/or encouragement so we will faithfully follow God’s desire for us and for our church.

Blessings
