2:9) “I know about your suffering and your poverty—but you are rich! I know the blasphemy of those opposing you. They say they are Jews, but they are not, because their synagogue belongs to Satan.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
FAITH IS THE TENDRIL BY WHICH THE SOUL CLINGS TO GOD.*

Good Saturday to you! God has given us the last full weekend in April to enjoy, to bless others, and to schedule time to worship Him. This Sunday at SunRise we will be in week number three of our current series – “The Incredible Absolutes” where we will explore the absolute necessity for the Christian faith that Jesus is both fully human and fully divine. In-building worship is at 8am and 9:45am. Live-stream worship is at 9:45am followed by on-demand options on the SunRise YouTube channel. And while you are on-line be sure and join the over 400 folks who have subscribed to the channel.

In our pick verse today, Jesus shares with the church in Smyrna His knowledge of their spiritual situation. Smyrna is one of two churches that Jesus did not lift up any form of criticism for their actions. While the believers in Smyrna may have been poor by their surrounding community standards, Jesus states that more importantly they are spiritually rich. Those who were called out for persecuting them may have been Jews by physical descent, but they were not considered by Jesus to be part of God’s people. These persecutors actions showed that they were under the dominion of Satan. Jesus commends them for grace in the midst of their ongoing sufferings. How gracious are we when it comes to enduring the suffering associated with being a follower of Jesus?

Blessings
