Wednesday – May 10th – Revelation 2:21-22     -----

2:21) I gave her time to repent, but she does not want to turn away from her immorality.
22) “Therefore, I will throw her on a bed of suffering, and those who commit adultery with her will suffer greatly unless they repent and turn away from her evil deeds.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:

PRAYER BECOMES A FLAT AND ARDUOUS BUSINESS WHEN WE REFUSE TO FOLLOW THE LIGHTS AND LEADS GOD HAS GIVEN US.*

Welcome to Wednesday! We haven’t done a mid-week check-in lately, so today seems like a great day for reflection. What have been your highs for the Kingdom of Heaven this week? Where have you seized the opportunity to brighten someone’s day with a kind word or act of helping? Who has been a blessing in your life this week (have you thanked them)? Has your observable life been reflective of your relationship with Christ? Being a 24/7 believer requires our full and complete attention to every detail of our lives.

In our pick verses today, Jesus makes it clear to the believers in Thyatira that He has personally give this false prophet an ample chance to repent and turn from her wicked ways. To the point that Jesus makes, she has been and remains unwilling to repent. In theology the word “repent” means to change one’s mind and to turn from sin and its disastrous consequences. The challenge with folks – then and now – is that one must acknowledge that their actions, or beliefs, or thoughts are in fact sinful in nature. When faced with a society that creates fewer and fewer boundaries for morality and/or ethical practices the harder it becomes to admit to our own sin. Even though God waits patiently for us to get over our own stubbornness, the second part of this reading strongly suggests that our sinful lives can and will lead us into a non-returnable destruction.

Blessings
