Happy Thursday to you! Yes, friends it is already Thursday and coming this Sunday is Mother’s Day. At SunRise we will honor all women and celebrate their gift of nurturing future generations in the ways of life and in the faith of Jesus. You can celebrate with us by stopping by the Mother’s Day photo booth and snap some great family pictures. The booth is located in the McClure lobby near the coffee area.
In our pick verse for today, Jesus levels His judgement directly upon the false teacher who is disrupting the spiritual growth of the believers in Thyatira. While the punishment, on the surface seems harsh, the deeper understanding for us is that intentional committed sin leads directly to spiritual sickness and death. Because He is God in the flesh, Jesus searches the minds and hearts of all people, and thus knows our motives and will always judge us rightly. We have a choice between spiritual vitality or moral laxity. It is impossible for the two to coexist or flourish together. Jesus will always know the true thoughts of our minds.
