2:24) “But I also have a message for the rest of you in Thyatira who have not followed this false teaching (‘deeper truths,’ as they call them—depths of Satan, actually). I will ask nothing more of you
25) except that you hold tightly to what you have until I come.

Hello Friday! Our inspirational thought for today is connected to the readings in the Daily Walk Bible that covers the story of Esther and her improbably rise to be the queen of Persia. Like Esther, when we allow God to use us in ways that seem outside our comfort zones, far beyond our perceived abilities, or exceeds our willingness to risk, God will do might works to glorify His name. Also, like Queen Esther, God’s doesn’t always act immediately, but can require us to wait until just His perfect moment. While we wait, God is busy growing us in our faith. What might God be preparing you for in either service or witness for the Kingdom of Heaven?
In our pick verses today, Jesus now delivers a word of encouragement for those who have successfully resisted the false teachings of this female prophet. This Jezebel-like deceiver taught that through practicing immorality and idolatry, these wayward Christians experienced the depths of Satan and in this way showed their power over him. However, for those who remained strong in their faith, God would continue to strengthen their resolve. Biblical and church history prove over an over that Satan is relentless in his pursuit of our loyalties. Once resisted only creates in the devil a greater attempt to distract us from a relationship with God. Be careful that we do not drop our guard after successfully resisting the devil, only to discover that he is attacking another of our weaknesses.
