Sunday – May 14th – Revelation 2:27-29     -----

2:27) They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots.
28) They will have the same authority I received from my Father, and I will also give them the morning star!
29) “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WE MUST ASK OURSELVES, “HOW MUCH OF ETERNITY IS IN WHAT WE ARE DOING?”*

Good Sunday to you! What a great day God has given us to set aside the busyness of our lives and worship Him with heartfelt praise and thanksgiving. Our inspirational thought for today is a great companion to today being the Lord’s Day. This is a question I should be constantly asking myself – maybe keep it on a note card or on the background screen of my phone. My life’s decisions, both large and small, should always be taken through the filter of how my life reflects the riches of the Kingdom of Heaven. Do my actions and words draw people to God or do the push them away from wanting to know Him more?

In our pick verses today, John records Jesus’ concluding words for the church of Thyatira. In a continuation of His promise in verse twenty-six, Jesus states what existence will be like when the rule of Satan has ended, and all order has been restored from the chaos of this world. Jesus reference to “Morning star” refers either to the gift of Christ Himself - the greatest gift ever for victorious Christians, or if may refer to the sovereignty that Christ will share with them in eternity. Of course, in the perfection of the Kingdom of Heaven the concept of “ruling” will look entirely different than what we have experienced of that term here on earth. The true glory of Heaven simply exceeds our greatest imagination of what it will be like.

Blessings
