Good Saturday to you! The first weekend of a new month is here for us to enjoy. If you are like me, today is packed with one event after another, after another, after yet another. Cars and Coffee, birthday party, graduation party, goat yoga just to name a few items on my schedule today. However, the most exciting thing on my calendar is Sunday morning worship. We will be jumping into week seven of “The Incredible Absolutes” of the Christian faith. This week we will explore the unique Wesleyan doctrine of “sanctification”. Join us in-building at either 8am or 9:45am. Online live stream is at 9:45am followed by on-demand options on our SunRise Church YouTube channel.
In our pick verse today, John records Jesus’ closing words to the believers in Laodicea which will bring to a close the seven letters of the churches found in the first three chapters of Revelation. The Laodicean church had received from Jesus all that was needed for them to change their spiritual direction. What they needed, and what we need today, is the ability to hear God’s message given to us and then to respond. As we reflect over each of the seven letters, each applies to the specific needs of the church and the community in which it existed. Each letter also contained a divinely inspired and accurate relevancy for all churches of every age. If we were to list the commendations and the criticisms from each church, how would we as individual believers grade out?
