Sunday – June 18th – Revelation 4:8     -----

4:8) Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty— the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE PERSON WHO DOES GOOD FOR GOD’S GLORY SEEKS NEITHER PRAISE NOR REWARD BUT IS SURE OF BOTH IN THE END.*

Welcome to Sunday and to Father’s Day 2023! I can’t imagine a better Father’s Day inspirational thought then the one God provided for us today from the Daily Walk Bible. I had a church member many years ago who said that he hated coming to church on Father’s Day. From his historical perspective the sermons typically beat up fathers for not doing or being enough of a spiritual leader/role model. At the same time, he said the Mother’s Day sermons were always warm, loving, bubbly, and sweet. In all honesty he is probably more correct in his observations than not. Our inspirational thought today, however, lives up to being inspirational in that it encourages the best from men, women, and children. Today may we seek giving God all the praise and glory and let the chips fall where they may.

In our pick verse today, John continues describing the four living creatures in his heavenly vision. What a shocking sight for John to behold, these creatures with six wings and covered all over with eyes. The array of wings represents the perfect composition needed for fulfilling God’s purposes with power and swiftness. The multitude of eyes represents God’s continuing awareness of all that is happening at any moment in any place. Their song of Holy, Holy, Holy is the highest praise we can give for God, especially when the setting is at the foot of His throne in the Kingdom of Heaven. The phrase “Lord God Almighty” acknowledges His absolute power over all that exists. The triune declaration of “was”, “is”, and “is to come” speaks to God’s eternal existence. As believers we belong to a God who is unshakable and in perfect control of all that happens in our lives. We simply must trust Him, especially when we are faced with the dark moments of our lives.

Blessings
