Thursday – June 22nd – Revelation 5:2-3     -----

2) Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?"
3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
NO GREATER INJURY CAN BE INFLICTED UPON SOMEONE THAN TO WOUND HIS OR HER REPUTATION.*

Good Thursday to you! Our inspirational thought for today is worth its weight in gold. What a necessary reminder for us in our seemingly unbridled “say what you think” culture. It certainly seems the balance of decency and common sense has taken a backseat to our now quick reaction to dislike those who don’t agree with our views. The New Testament book of James instructs Christians to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and even slower to get angry. Certainly, something for us to work on today, tomorrow, and the rest of our life.

In our pick verses today, John’s revelation marks the beginning of the unfolding of discipline God will dispense on the world for their/our failure to remain faithful and committed to Him. The identity of the angel who seeks a worthy soul to open the sacred scroll is unknown, but some suggest it is possibly Gabriel whose name means “strength of God”. This heavenly appointed search for someone worthy of bringing all human history to its appointed end was shouted to all creation. Yet the search found no one who had the authority and purity to open the scroll or even look inside it. We can be certain that God had an answer in mind before the angel bellowed out his message for all to hear. God always has a plan that is perfect and is timely.

Blessings
