Friday – June 23rd – Revelation 5:4     -----

5:4) So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
IF PEOPLE SPEAK ILL OF YOU, LIVE SO THAT NO ONE WILL BELIEVE THEM.*

Hello Friday! Today brings our Vacation Bible School week to a close. What a great and powerful week it has been. If you have not had a chance to experience this year’s VBS in person, then fear not, the kids will be sharing a couple of songs during the 9:45am service. Then following the service, we will have an old-fashion celebration with hotdogs, chips, and Kona Shaved Ice. This year the overall theme has been to remind us that Jesus’ light shines brightly through any kind of challenges or trials in our lives. See you Sunday!

In our pick verse today, John records his personal reaction to the absence of discovering a person worthy to open the revelation scroll. John wept bitterly because from his human perspective he believed that the unopened scroll would mean that the closing scene of history could not begin. Thus, evil would continue unabated on the earth, and there would be no future for God’s people. How sad it must have been for him to be immersed in this vision and then feel like all he believed was for naught. We should slowly read through this verse while taking a moment to reflect on how at times we can quickly doubt what God can do and/or will do on our behalf. Like John we can view things from a human perspective instead of trusting in God’s plan.

Blessings
