6:1) As I watched, the Lamb broke the first of the seven seals on the scroll. Then I heard one of the four living beings say with a voice like thunder, “Come!”

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
A GOOD LEARNER IS ONE WHOSE EARS GET MORE USE THAN HIS OR HER MOUTH.*

Good Saturday to you! Today we begin a new month to mark the second half of 2023. Equally exciting is that our Daily Walk Bible reading program kicks off the month in the book of Proverbs. A great Bible reading discipline is to read one chapter of Proverbs each day of the month. Since there are thirty-one proverbs and thirty-one days in July you can be filled with the wisdom of King Solomon throughout the month. This weekend we also conclude our series “The Next Generation” with the challenge to personally examine the legacy you will pass on to future generations. In-building worship on Sunday is at 8am and 9:45am. Livestream begins at 9:45am while on-demand options are accessible on SunRise Church YouTube after 10:45am.

As we open chapter six of the book of Revelation, we begin a chapter long journey of removing the seven seals securing the scroll in Jesus’ hand. This chapter also sets in motion a thirteen-chapter description of God’s final cleansing of the earth.  Within this divine drama the three series of sevenfold plagues have been called “history’s pageant of suffering”. The first four seals (6:1-8) reveal God’s judgement upon the world which remained after the rapture at the end of chapter three. The opening of the first seal is accompanied by one of the four living creatures in front of the throne of Heaven summoning John to come and see what God is doing. This call to see will be repeated for each of the first four seals.

Blessings
  Pastor Jim
