6:9) When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of all who had been martyred for the word of God and for being faithful in their testimony.

Hello Friday! A quick reminder that next Saturday (July 15th) is the next SunRise Church new member class beginning at 9am. In our pick verse today, John observes the breaking of the fifth seal on the scroll held by Jesus. This seal moves from the appearance of a horse and rider to now focus on those saints throughout the ages who had been faithful through trials and who died for their testimony to the truth filled and unchanging word of God. Their honored position “under the altar” of God signifies that are now safely in the presence of God. No matter what the world may throw at the followers of Jesus in this life, we are assured of a blessed eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven. I am sure that John received great comfort in knowing that God takes special care of those who have been martyred for their faith. This group would certainly include his fellow apostles and many of the early evangelist of the church.
