Monday – July 10th – Revelation 6:12 -----
6:12) I watched as the Lamb broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became as dark as black cloth, and the moon became as red as blood.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
LIFE ASKS NO QUESTIONS THAT FAITH CANNOT ANSWER.*
Hello Monday! What a great inspirational thought for us to kick off a new week. The Daily Walk readings open today in the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes, which is also written by King Solomon. If you are like me then you face multiple questions each day about life and life choices. I have discovered that when I attempt to answer questions based on just applying my own wisdom, I will typically come up short in the acceptable results department. However, when I first factor in what God’s word says about the subject of my decision then I will find a solution that is both pleasing to God and far better then what I could come up with on my own. This week let's agree to seek God’s wisdom first when we find ourselves at a decision point, any decision point.
In our pick verse today, John witnesses the opening of the sixth seal by Jesus. This seal ushered in violent effects within the natural order of creation. Earthquakes were followed by the sun turning black and the moon turning blood red. Because normal human life depends on the harmonious and ordered working of nature, the disruption of this order marks the beginning of the end of human history just before the promised and blessed return of Jesus at the end of the ages. For those left on earth at the breaking of this seal there is no turning back to seek a do-over. The only option for those suffering through this unfathomably and inescapable moment in history is to turn their lives over to Jesus. That my friends, is why we talk so much about the urgency of witnessing now to those who have yet to believe in Jesus.
Blessings
