Tuesday – July 11th – Revelation 6:13-14     ------

6:13) Then the stars of the sky fell to the earth like green figs falling from a tree shaken by a strong wind.
14) The sky was rolled up like a scroll, and all of the mountains and islands were moved from their places.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
A USELESS LIFE IS AS GOOD AS AN EARLY DEATH.*

Happy Tuesday. What a sobering inspirational thought for us today. God’s plan for His people is for them to make a difference in the world in which they live. To only exist and pass time until you go to heaven is a very uneventful and unfruitful life. Yes, it may be safe, and simple, and keep you from risking failure, but it will fall far short of the adventurous life that can help others discover a relationship with Jesus. While this inspirational thought is not suggesting that we are better off dead, it implies that a stagnant life amounts to be part of the walking dead. Let this week become your “Fresh Start”, a time to step into a Kingdom adventure and then let God use you to be a blessing to others.

In our pick verses today, John continues his description of the events following the opening of the sixth seal. For the first century readers of John's revelation vision the unfolding picture of these cosmic disruptions would signal to them what could only be considered as the end of the world. Yet they could find comfort in knowing that God still was in control. The apostle Peter in 2 Peter 3, wrote to persecuted believers that they should look forward to that day when God will set the heavens on fire and the elements would melt away in the flames. The new heaven and the new earth prophesied by John’s vision can only occur after the complete destruction of the old. All of creation waits in anticipation for the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from the death and decay within the world. Paul assures us that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to this promised moment of reconciliation. How exciting and comforting to know that the writers of the New Testament stand in agreement of God’s ultimate plan for humanity.

Blessings
