Thursday – July 13th – Revelation 6:16-17 -----
6:16) And they cried to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.
17) For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
PEOPLE USED TO ARGUE AS TO WHETHER THE WORLD WAS SQUARE OR ROUND—BUT THE BIBLE SAYS IT IS CROOKED!*
Good Thursday to you! Hey SunRise friends, this is a final reminder that our July membership class is only a couple of days away. Yes, if you want to be a member of the new SunRise Church and have not attended a new member class in 2022 or 2023 then this is your next opportunity. We will meet on Saturday July 15th at 9am to discuss our beliefs, organizational structure, and God’s vision for the people called SunRise. You can register for the class by going to the events page on either the website or the church app. I am looking forward to welcoming all those interested in supporting SunRise thought their commitment to personal discipleship growth, service, and generosity.
In our pick verse today, John concludes his observations of the events caused by the opening of the sixth seal fastened on the scroll of destiny. In verse fifteen the population of the world seeks to hide themselves from the coming wrath of God. In today’s verses we hear the pleas of the world populace for a quick end that will remove them from the punishment of God. The people were so terrified of the one who was seated on the throne of judgement that they would prefer that an avalanche fall on them rather than having to face God. The evil people on earth dreaded God more than they dreaded their own death. They did not realize that even death cannot help them escape their personal judgement of God. What a paradox this picture paints as lambs are considered a gentle and calm animal, but the Lamb of God was bringing great wrath upon a world that refused His sacrifice, mocked His name, and persecuted His people.
Blessings
