Sunday – July 16th – Revelation 7:2-3 -----
7:2) Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea,
3) saying, "Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads."
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE MORE YOU THINK ABOUT CHRIST, THE MORE YOU THINK OF HIM.*
A very blessed and peace-filled Sunday to you! Our inspirational thought for today is perfect for a day when we focus on worshiping God. Where our mind goes so does our heart and our attitude. When I find myself tempted to focus on the things of this world – money, possessions, status, and/or fitting in – I tend to lose sight of my relationship with God. However, when I can set aside the clamor of the world and send quality time with God I discover over and over again the peace from God that surpasses human understanding. That is why this reminder on the day we worship is so important. I may reread this tomorrow just to remind myself that Mondays are also a great day to worship God and focus on my relationship with Jesus.
In our pick verses today, John’s vision includes the appearance of a fifth angel in this scene of his revelation about the end of time. This new angel is sent directly from God to instruct the four angels holding the winds back as to why the temporary delay in God’s divine drama. This angel is pictured as having the seal or signet rind of God, symbolizing that he comes with God’s full authority to protect God’s people. The encouragement in this verse is that there will be those who turn from their sins and will be sealed with the same promise of God that pre-rapture believers possess. How comforting to hear that God fully knows those who are His and will inherit the riches of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessings
