Tuesday – July 25th – Revelation 8:5 -----
8:5) Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOD IS NOT MADE GREATER WHEN YOU WORSHIP HIM, BUT YOU ARE MADE GREATER WHEN YOU SERVE HIM.*
Happy Tuesday to you! A SunRise reminder for today. On Wednesday August 9th we will be holding our next SunRise Membership Class beginning at 6:30pm. This class is required for membership in the new SunRise Church, this invitation is extended to anyone who has not taken a SunRise membership class in either 2022 or 2023. During the class we will discuss the organizational structure of SunRise and share the foundation of our theological beliefs through the Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, and the teachings of John Wesley. Childcare is available upon request. You can sign up at the events page of either the SunRise website or the SunRise app.
In our pick verse today, John writes his observation of the singular angel tasked with the responsibility of caring for the censer filled with incense. Ezekiel, in the Old Testament, described a similar scene when a man was told to scatter a handful of glowing coals over the city of Jerusalem as God’s spirit departed and judgement fell upon the city. In our verse today, the thunder, lightning, and other noises were indicating that God was initiating His final actions as the answer to the prayers of the saints recorded in verse four. The prayers of these saints become the perfect replacement for the human tendency to seek revenge or to retaliate on our own. All matters fall into God’s perfect hands of justice and judgement.
Blessings
