Wednesday – August 9th – Revelation 9:13 -----
9:13) Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
IF YOUR STUDY OF GOD’S WORD DOES NOT CHANGE THE WAY YOU LIVE, EITHER YOU ARE ALREADY PERFECT OR NOT STUDYING CORRECTLY.*
Happiest of Wednesday to you! Our inspirational thought today is one not to be overlooked or to be taken lightly. This thought reaches both to the core of our relationship with God and the influence we allow the devil to have over us. I guess the sixty-four-million-dollar question is when was the last time you studied scripture that it changed your opinion, attitude, motives, or actions? Sometimes we read scripture to increase our knowledge, other times we read scripture to justify our thoughts, yet all times we read scripture it should have a positive effect on who we are and how we behave. Maybe the better question is what spiritual growth have you experienced from spending time in God’s word?
In our pick verse today, John’s attention is drawn back to heaven and away from the events happening on earth because of the five trumpets of doom already released upon the earth. The sixth angel is summoned to stand before the throne of God and to hear the voice of the Almighty speak instructions to him. The “golden altar” in this verse was the place where the saints had fervently prayed for God to send judgment upon the earth and to rule with justice on behalf of those who had been martyred for their faith. With the calling forth of the sixth angel God now answers that prayer in part by unleashing this next horrible woe.
Blessings
