Sunday – August 20th – Revelation 9:18 -----
9:18) By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed--by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
UNDERSTANDING GOD’S GRACE IN YOUR LIFE IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARD TRUE HUMILITY.*
Happy, healthy, and holy Sunday to you! For most of the kids in school districts in the shadow of our steeple tomorrow signals the first day of classes for the new school year. I stand with many of them when they ask the proverbial question – “where did the summer go?”. In another month we will be able to flip our calendars to the official beginning of “fall”. Although in some stores the Christmas decorations have been up for a couple of weeks and Halloween décor that appeared on July 5th by now has become almost an accepted part of the landscape. All of this means that in the coming weeks left in August we will begin promoting all the great events happening at SunRise in September. But for now, my friends enjoy these last days of hot weather, swimming pools, and watering gardens.
In our pick verse today, John continues his detailed description of the demonic warriors unleased upon the earth as part of his end-time vision. John reports that the actions of these hideous creatures effectively kill one-third of the earth’s remaining population. Combined with the earlier death of one-fourth of humanity (Revelation 6:7-8), the tribulation has so far reduced by half the earth’s post-rapture population. Some biblical scholars suggest that John’s description of fire, smoke and brimstone coming from their mouths was his attempt to describe a yet unknown type of weapon more advanced than the catapults and giant crossbows weapons of his day.
Blessings
Pastor Jim
Monday – August 21st – Revelation 9:19

Happy Sunday, Pastor Jim! 🌞 Thank you for sharing this inspirational passage from Revelation 9:18 and your thoughts for today.
It's true, the summer always seems to fly by, and the start of the new school year marks a significant transition for many. The anticipation of fall, despite the early holiday decorations, brings its own charm and beauty.
The description of the events in Revelation is indeed intriguing and often subject to interpretation. It's fascinating to think about how John might have been trying to convey something beyond his understanding, using the language and concepts of his time.
I appreciate your messages, and I look forward to the wisdom and insights you'll continue to share with us. Have a blessed Sunday, Pastor Jim! ðŸ™âœ¨
