Hello Monday! What a great day to start off a new week. And what a great inspirational thought to kick off our Monday. Revival is a word and a process that has taken a back seat in today’s modern church culture. We can easily assign an “old-fashioned” or “out of date” connection to the thought of revival. Maybe some of you have experienced a revival meeting in your younger days, one complete with altar calls and give them-hell-sermons. While that style of revival technique might well be dated the need for personal revival stands at an all-time high. Great advice from our inspirational thought today – go draw a circle, get inside it, and pray for revival to fill the person inside.
In our pick verse today, John is probably secretly praying deep inside for a revival to break out upon the earth. I can’t imagine what is going through his mind as he sees this horrific scene playing out before his eyes. Half of the world’s population has died, and from his vantage point they are dying unnecessarily. A simple “yes” to Jesus could have changed each person’s fate. Death comes from these demonic warriors through both their heads and their tales. One could suggest that both words and actions are convincing people that they are to trust in their own beliefs with no need for a belief in Jesus. Many unbelievers today trust in their own security based on false gods, such as material possession and money, or even worse in a watered down/altered gospel that promotes their own rendering of scripture serving to validate their motives and personal agendas. That which comes from the mouth can be as spiritually deadly as that which comes from the hands of humanity.
