Tuesday – August 22nd – Revelation 9:20-21 -----
9:20) But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk.
21) And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

In our pick verses today, John closes out chapter nine with two verses that sum up the response of those who are still left on earth at this point in history. People will make the chose either to repent and turn to God when they are confronted with His judgement of their sins, or else they can refuse to repent. All too often humans have been so hardened by the effects of sin and so deeply enslaved by evil that they will flat out refuse to repent. This will be the case even when a third of the remaining human population has been swept away. The devil will tempt people to dismiss or justify the horrific actions happening in this chapter as nature, or coincidence, or you name it, anything but seeing it as God trying to grab their attention before it is to late. Denial of these prophesied course of events can come from either complete ignorance of what is in God’s word or blatant rejection of the reality of God. Either way the result will be eternal separation from the Kingdom of Heaven.
