Friday – August 25th – Revelation 10:5-6 -----
10:5) The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven
6) and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer,
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
IT’S WHEN WE RUB SHOULDERS WITH SOMEONE THAT WE DISCOVER WHAT THAT PERSON HAS UP HIS OR HER SLEEVE.*
Yippee-Yippee Friday. We have arrived at the eve of the last weekend in August, and for many folks the last unofficial weekend of summer. School is in full operation mode, fall sports seasons are kicking-off, family vacations are now photo memories, and soon the temps will be cooler and calmer (yes, I know that is hard to believe with a weeks’ worth of 100-degree temps still fresh in our mind). The rush of September at SunRise is coming to us in full force and filled with ministry and mission opportunities at every turn. Next Saturday kicks off our September fun with the monthly Cars-N-Coffee in our McClure parking lot from 8am-10am. Come and stroll through a lot full of fabulous cars spanning almost 100 years of automotive history – all free of charge.
In our pick verses today, John’s attention returns to the angel God sent to the earth to deliver the next step in the end of the world process. What impressed John was that this mighty angel was standing on both the sea and the earth. The angels position clearly indicated that God had given him power and authority over what remained of the earth. Secondly, the angel swore a solemn oath affirming his role in this divine drama by vowing that God is the one who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens, the earth, and the sea. Because God has created them, He has the authority and right to judge and to “uncreate” creation as we know it. The angel’s pronounced with certainty that the time has arrived and there would be no more delays in carrying God’s plan to fulfillment. From this point on there remains no doubt in anyone’s mind that the end of the world is near.
Blessings
