Sunday – August 27th – Revelation 10:8     -----

10:8) Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, "Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth."

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GODLINESS SHINES BRIGHT IN THE DARK NIGHT OF WORLDLINESS.*

Happy Sunday to you! What an appropriately timed inspirational thought for a Sunday. The content is perfect to help prepare us to worship God today. God in our lives makes all the difference from seeing the world through a heavenly perspective or seeing the world through the jaded eyes of the devil. When we see with a heavenly lens than our actions will follow those of Jesus. We will be a light shining into, and for, a dark world. Secondly in timing appropriateness, the Daily Walk Bible readings this week will be from the book of Daniel, reinforcing our series focus on “Food, Fire, & Fangs”. What a peace of mind to know that God brings all things together so we can glorify His name.

In our pick verse today, John is now called to participate in the next steps of God’s divine end-of-the-world drama. An unnamed heavenly being (who had previously instructed John not to write down the message of the thunders) now instructs John to take the little scroll held by the mighty angel standing on both the sea and the land. This small scroll is specifically for John to read as he is deemed worthy by God to receive its message. John’s role in this verse reaffirms, in symbolic form, the first century Christian conviction that the apostles and prophets were indeed human instruments of divine revelation. John’s participatory inclusion will serve to strength the acceptance of this letter and its prophetic vision by its first readers.

Blessings
