Friday – September 1st – Revelation 11:3 -----
11:3) And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
LIKE A DELICATE SEISMOGRAPH, HOSEA’S SENSITIVE SOUL RECORDED THE HIDDEN AND SECRET RUMBLINGS OF DIVINE JUDGMENT.*
Welcome to Friday and to the beginning of the ninth month of 2023. The next “big” thing on the SunRise September Family Ministry calendar is Seeds Kick-off on Wednesday September 13th. This is an exciting program for children ages 3-11 that includes fun songs and other kid-friendly activities that make memorizing the Bible easy, fun, and lasting. Kids have a great time and love to invite their friends to join them on Wednesday nights. You can sign-up for Seeds by going to the SunRise website or SunRise App and click on the “Events” tab.
In our pick verse today, John introduces the symbolic appearance of God’s two witnesses that will arrive in order to bring the opportunity of salvation to the world. While there are a handful of interpretations as to the identity of these two witnesses, the best and most closely connected to the whole of John’s prophecy is that they represent the church itself. During the time of the tribulation that follows the rapture of believers, the church will be rebirthed by those who had not initially given their lives to Christ. They will now be God’s witnesses to the rest of the world. Their need to witness will carry with it both urgency and with increased danger. Sackcloth was the typically clothing of God’s prophets who called people to repentance through faith.
Blessings
