Thursday – August 7th – Revelation 11:9-10     -----

11:9) Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves.
10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
LOVE IS A FABRIC THAT DOESN’T FADE WHEN WASHED IN THE WATER OF ADVERSITY AND GRIEF.*

Happy Thursday to you. One of the popular movies back when I was in my early teens is noted for the infamous line “love means never having to say your sorry”. While this phrase has generated countless debates on its meaning and its application in a relationship, the bottom line is that it can create more problems than it solves. Our inspirational thought today, reminds me that God’s true unconditional love stands the test of time, trials, and struggles. God offered us forgiveness long before we ever considered our wrongs. God was/is always willing to forgive us regardless of our action or inaction. Our part in this relationship is simple – say “I am sorry” and thank you. That, my friends, is how unconditional love is defined.

In our pick verses today, John begins to draw to conclusion his recording of the treatment the two witnesses killed by the beast from the abyss. Today’s verses are tied directly to the mysterious “city” from verse eight. The far-reaching multitude of people is a further indication that the great city stands for the whole wicked world that remains in opposition to God. The victory celebration by the people of the world will usher in a false reality that their time of torment had finally ended.  The three and a half days that the bodies of the witnesses are on public display symbolizes this apparent victory the world thinks it has won over the church and the forces of Heaven.  They will soon discover that God’s judgement on evil is not yet complete. This period of the tribulation is only a prelude to the final days of judgment yet to come.

Blessings
