The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOOD LEADERS TAKE MORE THAN THEIR SHARE OF BLAME AND LESS THAN THEIR SHARE OF CREDIT.*

Hello Saturday! I hope you find plenty of ways to enjoy this last weekend of the official summer season. I am especially excited for the start of our newest teaching series at SunRise. Sunday kicks off a five-week focus on the importance of faith. The eleventh chapter of the book of Hebrews is known as the roll call of Old Testament saints. Each of these people achieved their notoriety, not from their intellect or abilities, but from their willingness to trust God in challenging situations. We will retell their stories and see how we can live into the same strong faith each of these heroes of scripture displayed. Join us in-building or online for an exciting time of worship, witness, and spiritual growth.

In our pick verse today, John continues to describe the “woman” who has first appeared in the sky. Today we learn she is pregnant and crying out in her labor pains. While we discovered yesterday that this is not an actual woman, the symbolic descriptions in the first two verses point to the fact that “she” is cast as the redeemed people of God, as God sees them in their glory and splendor. This is a metaphor used by God throughout the Old Testament for His people, and one that Jesus often referred to as saying the church was the bride of Christ. The woman in this story represents all the true people of God; faithful Israel before Christ came, and those throughout history who have said “yes” to Jesus as their savior.

Blessings
