Sunday – September 17th – Revelation 12:3 -----
12:3) And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHAT A PERSON BELIEVES, HE WILL DIE FOR. WHAT A PERSON MERELY THINKS, SHE WILL CHANGE HER MIND ABOUT.*
Happy Sunday to you! Our inspirational thought for today is a great reminder that a faith and belief in Jesus is not to be taken lightly. The great distinction between believing and thinking can mean the difference between eternal life in the presence of God or eternal life in the presence of Satan. As human beings we are granted the reality of an eternal life, but where that location will be depends upon our connection to God. The scriptures are very clear that even the demons knew who Jesus was, but they did not have a faith/belief-based relationship with Him. Folks can say they know Jesus, attend church all their lives, go through the motions of practicing religion but have yet to accept Jesus into their lives as Lord and Savior. As we gather today to worship, do you believe in Jesus or just think about Jesus?
In our pick verse today, John introduces the second major character into this divine drama unfolding in the expanse of the sky. This second character is the antagonist, non-other that Satan himself, represented as an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns covered with royal crowns. Only three times in Revelation is there mention of diadem-crowned figure. In addition to 12:3, the ten-crowned water monster, or Antichrist (13:1), and the multi-crowned King of kings, or Jesus (19:12). The seven heads suggest complete wisdom, the seven crowns point to his blasphemous kingly claims, and the ten horns mean power. Satan is making one last attempt to disrupt God’s work of redemption in and through Jesus Christ.
Blessings
