Wednesday – September 20th – Revelation 12:6 ------
12:6) Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE CALM THAT PUTS US TO SLEEP MAY BE MORE DEADLY THAN A STORM THAT KEEPS US WIDE AWAKE.*
Welcome to Wednesday! Yes, it is Wednesday again and time this evening for our “Journey Of A Lifetime Bible Study”. This study is an overview of each book of the Bible where we learn the author, time-period when written, and major points in the book. We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the SunRise worship space. Childcare is available for ages 4 through 5th grade as part of our Family Ministry Seeds programing. This week we will be diving into the Old Testament book of 1 Samuel. If you are outside of the shadow of the steeple of SunRise we live-stream each week through our SunRise app and website, as well as making it available afterwards through our SunRise YouTube channel.
In our pick verse today, John refocuses his attention back to the woman who had just given birth. This woman being cared for in the wilderness is testimony to God’s preservation of His people from ultimate harm during the times of persecution in the final days. He enables us to keep our faith in spite of the dangers and challenges faced in this lifetime. The one thousand two hundred and sixty days, or 3 ½ years, in this verse is similar to the same number of days as previously recorded in 11:3. These two sets of days are unique to only chapters 11 and 12 and are to be understood as two separate sequential time periods. These to sets of days both correlate to a time when Satan and the forces of Hell are permitted to prevail. Important to note that the perfection of God is connected to the number 7. Hence Satan is then given half that number because his works are half-baked, incomplete, and doomed to fail.
Blessings
