The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THOSE WHO SEE GOD’S HAND IN EVERYTHING CAN BEST LEAVE EVERYTHING IN GOD’S HAND.*
Happy Thursday to you! Our inspirational thought for today can be summed up in a simple phrase – “easier said than done”. I think the challenging part of this thought is that our human nature (fully aided by the devil) struggles to see God in everything. We can quickly point out the big things in which we state, “oh there is God’s handiwork”, but when it comes to the everyday smaller stuff, we are more easily persuaded to dismiss God’s presence or even God’s concern. When we fail to see God in something than we are tempted to take over control of it ourselves. And when we do, we have dismissed the ultimate power of God. We have reduced God to fit our needs instead of allowing God to be God. Today I will seek to see God’s hand in everything.
In our pick verses today, John records the repercussions from God’s protection of the women and her child. As the woman and child fade out of this heavenly scene, Michael and the angels of Heaven fade into picture to battle the dragon. Michael as the only archangel is portrayed in Jewish literature as the leader of God’s angelic forces. This ensuing war between the forces of good and evil typifies the ancient and continuing struggle between God and Satan. This verse is symbolic of the truth in Ephesians 6:12 – “for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”. We have the opportunity each day to choose on which side of this battleline we will stand. In the words of Joshua – choose this day whom you will serve.
