Friday – September 22nd – Revelation 12:8-9 (part 1) -----
12:8) but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.
9) So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
SOME PEOPLE DREAM OF WORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, WHILE OTHERS STAY AWAKE AND DO THEM.*
Good day Friday to you! Please put this upcoming exciting event on your “to do” list. SunRise will be hosting its second annual Outdoor Worship and Baptism Service. We will gather on the east side of the church (soccer field) at 9:45am on Sunday October 1st to celebrate God’s invitation to His family through baptisms. If you or someone you love would like to be baptized for the first time, please contact me at jdblue@sunrisefamily.org so we can get you scheduled for that morning.
In our pick verses today, John describes the war between the angelic forces of Heaven and the great dragon. The dragon had been strong enough to sweep away one third of the stars with his tail. But he was not strong enough to prevail over the angels led by Michael. It is important to remind ourselves that our somewhat idyllic image of passive angels sitting around Heaven playing harps is not substantiated by what is in scripture. Not only are we humans engaged in spiritual warfare with the forces of the devil here on earth, but there is also an unseen spiritual battle being waged by the angelic army of God in the spiritual realm. God’s angels are mighty and are prepared for the battle. Our prayers assist them in being fully armed to battle against the devil and his legion of demons. More on these two verses tomorrow.
Blessings
Pastor Jim
