Friday – September 29th – Revelation 12:13     -----

12:13) Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
LET US PRAY NOT FOR LIGHTER BURDENS BUT FOR STRONGER BACKS.*

Welcome to Friday! It is the dawn of the last weekend of September. How quickly time flashes by, especially when there are so many options to fill our schedules. A final reminder that on Sunday October 1st the 9:45am worship service will be out on the SunRise soccer field. A beautiful day is being forecast for us with pleasant temperatures and mostly sunny skies. This will be a perfect day for first-time baptisms and baptismal re-affirmations. Seating will be provided, but you can also bring your own softer camp chairs. The service will be live streamed on the SunRise YouTube and the SunRise Facebook pages. The 8am service will remain in the worship space.  See you for an exciting Sunday of worship!

In our pick verse for today, John begins the transition of his vision back to the beast and its reaction to being cast from Heaven. The sky-drama now turns into earth-drama. While the dragon’s demons have faded away, the woman who gave birth the male child reappears as the new focus for the dragon. If the dragon cannot prevail against Michael and the angels of Heaven, perhaps he can destroy the women (i.e. the church). The dragon is hoping that the strength of the church people has weakened, and he will now be able to wipe out the remaining believers.  The word “persecuted” in this verse can also be translated as “pursued”, meaning the devil is angrily stalking God’s people, hoping to do as much irreversible damage as possible in the short time he has left.

Blessings
