Wednesday – October 4th – Revelation 13:2     -----

13:2) Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
FAITH IS TO BELIEVE WHAT WE DO NOT SEE, AND THE REWARD OF THIS FAITH IS TO SEE WHAT WE BELIEVE.*

Happy Wednesday to you! Today’s promotion is all about the SunRise New Member class on Monday October 16th at 6:30pm. This will be the last new member class held in 2023 for membership in the new SunRise Church. The class is for anyone who has not attended a new member class in either 2022 or 2023. In the class we will cover the organizational structure, beliefs, and God’s vision for the future of SunRise. Please sign up on the events page through either the SunRise app or website. Childcare is available upon request.

In our pick verse today, John continues to describe the sea creature introduced in verse one. The body parts of this monster are a composite of three of the four creatures of Daniel 7:1-6 but in reverse order: body of a leopard, feet of a bear, and mouth of a lion. In Daniel’s vision these represented historical empires that opposed Judah, such as Babylon and Persia. In John’s vision they are combined into one monster – raw political-military power. For the Christians of John’s day, the connection to this beast represented the imperial power and presence of the Roman empire. Although God has ordained that governments be used for good (Romans 13L1-7), clearly the devil has mastered the art of twisting what God means for good and turning it too evil.

Blessings
