Monday – October 9th – Revelation 13:7 ------
13:7) It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
DEATH DIED WHEN CHRIST AROSE.*
Welcome to Monday! Our inspirational thought for today parallels the reading from the last few chapters of Matthew’s gospel account of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Seasonally it may seem odd to be reading about the Easter story in October, but the reality is that every day is Easter for Christians. It is not a one-day event in the spring of the year that folks flock to church to be reminded that God loved the world so much… Not just on that day, but every day – even a Monday in October – we can celebrate Jesus’ victory over death and the grave. This will be a victory every believer will experience for themselves, all in God’s perfect timing. So, celebrate today like it was Easter Sunday, well because it really is.
In our pick verse today, John records that the Antichrist, in the form of the great beast from the sea, ramps up his assault on believers in Christ. The monster’s verbal assault on God and Heaven becomes a physical assault on God’s people on earth. Its master – Satan – has determined to make war against those who chose to trust and obey God. Even if the devil can persecute, torture, or even kill Christians, he cannot force them to lose their faith. Yet, as this battle wages on earth, there will be people of every tribe, tongue, and nation who will be deceived and who will temporarily fall under the power of Satan’s demonic agent on earth. As a reminder, even though John describes a great beast coming from the sea this is an inward assessment of character. The actual physical appearance of the Antichrist will be unrecognizable as to its turn nature or form. Don’t be fooled by looks or speech for the devil is a master at deception.
Blessings
