Good Saturday to you! We have arrived at the weekend. This Sunday in worship at SunRise we will conclude our series “It Was By Faith” with a look at the story of Sarah’s miraculous motherhood. Each week in this series we have dug deep into the various heroes of the faith listed in Hebrews 11, asking the question - what makes each of these folks special in God’s eyes. Join us this weekend either in-building or online to discover what it takes to live by faith.
In our pick verse today, John continues to record the deceptive actions of the Satan working through the beast from the earth. It’s very actions are an evil parody of the Spirit of God. Just as the Holy Spirit glorifies Christ, so the earth monster glorifies the Antichrist. Just as the Father gives the Son His authority, so the devil gives the Antichrist authority to perform signs and wonders to the amazement of the people. Remember that the ability to do signs does not always prove that one comes from God. A testing of the spirits is required and if the actions do not align completely with God’s word, way, will, or when then we will clearly see the falsity of the action.
