Thursday – October 19th – Revelation 14:1 ------
14:1) Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father's name written on their foreheads.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
FAITH NEVER KNOWS WHERE IT IS BEING LED, BUT IT LOVES AND KNOWS THE ONE WHO IS LEADING.*
Welcome to Thursday! Our inspirational thought for today is a great way to complete our recent series on faith. While we used Hebrews 11:1 as the working definition for faith, today’s thought does a great job of stating it in a fresh new way. Every day is a day lived in faith – we know not what the next hour, or even the next moment will bring. What we put our faith in as the seconds tick by on the clock will make all the difference in how we deal with the sudden realities of life. For believers, we have chosen to put our faith in the God of creation. The one, who from the first page to the last page of the Bible, always fulfills His promises. It is comforting to know that we are being led by the one who loves us unconditionally.
In our pick verses today, John begins a new chapter and with it a new scene in his divinely inspired vision. The transition from chapter thirteen to chapter fourteen marks a return to a focus on the activity in the heavenly realm. The overarching message in the previous chapter was, in spite of the two vile beasts from hell, believers are to be patient with the Lord. Chapter fourteen’s purpose is to give Christian’s courage, and to assure them of their ultimate triumph over evil. The welcomed reappearance of Jesus is accompanied by the 144,000 from 7:3, which symbolically represent all of the redeemed. The name of God written on their foreheads contrasts with the mark of the beast put on those who choose to worship Satan. God’s name is His sign of promise and protection for those going through the tribulation.
Blessings
