Hello Friday! As we move toward the weekend, I want to remind you about one of our great ministries here at SunRise. Our “Food 4 Hope” outreach provides meals and hygiene items to folks in our community who may need an extra boost when their pantry is bare. Called by a few different names since the beginning of SunRise, this food pantry ministry now partners with local school districts to help provide backpacks filled with non-perishable food items. Our current list of needs includes jelly, snack crackers, ramen noodles, fruit snacks, and cereal. You can purchase items and bring them to the church anytime you are here, or you can place a standing order with your favorite online supplier to be delivered on a regular basis to the church. All donations are greatly appreciated.
In our pick verse today, John’s vision includes the sounds of Heaven as the next great signal of God’s coming victory of evil. Up to this point the most recent audio reference by John to this great spectacle of end times has been the cries of those who worship the beast. Now as the scene returns to Heaven the worship of the Lamb takes on an even greater and more majestic sound. The culmination of the sound of Jesus’ voice being like the roar of rushing waters, the voices of the four living creatures like the peal of thunder, and the twenty-four elders now issued harps, all to usher in the sweet sound of certain victory. The scene in Heaven could only be described as one perfect orchestra with one focus and that is to give praise and honor to the triune God for what is about to happen.
